Discussion > Hi, Sakari this is your cousin Leo

Hi, me and my family have been actively watching, how is it allways going with you.
I think you were lucky when you got that nice family and that it`s going very good with you in japan. But here is the question, in the start was it hard to solute in the japanise culture when you first got there? Good luck for you in your school studies, from Leo.
P.S.I`m interested in the Japan too.

Hey! Great to know your reading :)

Surprisingly, I didn't have any culture shock when I got here. It's really been quite easy. I think I would put that down to a couple of things.

Firstly I think that the Japan I studied in Finland was a huge help. It might not have been much, but now that I'm here I really appreciate it.

Secondly I read up on Japanese culture and mannerisms before I came here, which I think also helped me a lot in that I had some idea of how Japanese behaved.

Thirdly, and most importantly, I got a really nice family. Straight away they made me feel at home and everyone is very kind. My favourite time of the day is when we have dinner together, and everyone talks and jokes about.

So, of course there have been a lot of new things to learn, but for me it has all gone quite smoothly.
